Let’s Encrypt is Rocking It

Monday, April 18th, 2016

What’s better than safety online? FREE safety online.

That’s right. And it’s for everyone, all across the globe.

We wrote about Let’s Encrypt a little while ago in our blog, and in it, we spoke about what Let’s Encrypt is and what exactly it is that they’re doing for the internet.

We hoped that the open source SSL (secure sockets layer) from Let’s Encrypt would be available to us later in 2016, but it seems that Let’s Encrypt was able to roll out this amazing service 6 days ago on April 12th.

Since their opening beta launch in 2015, they’ve been gathering huge sponsors, like Google, Cisco, and Mozilla, and since then they’ve gathered more and more support from large companies and the overall public. Now they have even more sponsors backing them, like Gemalto, HP Enterprise, Fastly, Duda, and ReliableSite.net. Their goal is to have 100% of the internet’s websites under their protection, and with the amount of attention and growth they’ve received, we’re confident that they’ll reach that goal.

Let’s Encrypt’s SSL has already been used on 3.8 million websites.

If your business uses a website where sensitive data may be exchanged, we highly recommend that you sign up with Let’s Encrypt! We use it for our own website, and it’s absolutely worth it. Even if you don’t have a website exchanges personal information, it doesn’t hurt at all to have an SSL installed to add an extra layer of protection. It’s free after all. And there are all sorts of malicious activities that attackers may use on many different websites.

Give us a shout on our Twitter or Facebook if you have some questions about SSL, or if you would like help with setting up with Let’s Encrypt. We’d be happy to help out and talk.

🙂
