Tuesday, October 14th, 2014

So most of you might have noticed, in the past few months Facebook has been making changes to their site. If you are unsure of the modifications, here is a quick overview of those changes.

Nearby Friends:

Nearby Friends helps you find out which of your friends are nearby or on the go. This App allows you to be notified when friends are nearby, so you can get in touch.

A Look Back:

This fun App takes your Facebook “life” from when you first became a user to present day. It takes the images, posts and likes from your account and puts them into a slideshow. It’s a neat look at your past usage of Facebook.

Paper:

Is a new App that allows you to discover and share stories from friends and the world around you. The art of storytelling has taken a new form. You can get stories from your Facebook News Feed or you can view them in different categories.

Trending:

You may have noticed a new sidebar on the right side of your Facebook News Feed. Trending shows you what is interesting and relevant across all the content on Facebook currently. You can see who else is talking about what you are interested in. Once you click on the link, all the information about that topic on Facebook is all in one location for you to explore.

Year in Review:

This is a collection of the biggest moments from your Facebook account over the past year. You can also share your Year in Review to show off events, popular posts and photos from this year. It is more than a slideshow like A Look Back. It is like a whole News Feed of your year.

Donate:

Contributing to nonprofits is easier than ever. The Donate feature can be found beside Posts in News Feeds shared by participating nonprofits and at the top of their Facebook Pages. This App allows nonprofits to reach out more effortlessly and allows donators to find the causes they want to support with ease.

That’s all that is new with Facebook over the last few months. Have you explored these new features for yourself? What do you think of them? What would you like to see developed? Facebook is a very user associated and fun social media platform. If you have any questions about what Facebook can offer your business, give us a call at the office.
