As we wrote last week, sometimes the trends for 2017 need to marinate a little bit and don’t make waves until the next year. We’re going to compare two infographics to further exemplify this, one devoted to 2017 marketing trends (courtesy of CJG Digital Marketing) and one from 2018 (courtesy of Filmora). As you could see below, there is definite crossover between the two.
Now, obviously social media is not a stagnant place. It is highly innovative and constantly changing. Even still, important trends continue into a new year while some need time to grow. What does this mean for your business? Prioritize the trends you see year after year because they’re working. Once you have those nailed, move into the more specialized trends that you could envision your customers gravitating towards. But, remember to be flexible and pivot when something isn’t working out as planned. Just because something is trending doesn’t always mean that it will work for your business; plan, implement, review until you find a strategy that’s the perfect fit for you and your brand.
